Biography:

Gary Gilbert's parents are Rick Gilbert and Benita White, he has two half-brothers, Rick Gilbert and Casey White, and a half-sister, Richelle Solis. Gilbert's nickname is Double G. He started competing in rodeo when he was 8 years old. He competed at the National Little Britches Rodeo when he was 8-12 years old and again when he was 17-18 years old. Double G describes his style as “pretty aggressive, go for broke every time”. His favorite rodeo is Cheyenne Frontier Days, in Wyoming, because of past success there and the large size of the steers. Gilbert participates in Crossfit three to four times per week to stay in shape. He looks up to Tyler Haugen and Dean Gorsuch. He enjoys big game hunting such as deer and hogs and he's a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Outside of rodeo, Gary owns a construction business and he graduated from New Underwood High School in South Dakota with a class of 24 students in 2004. He majored in secondary math education in college. Gilbert's favorite food is steak and vegetables and his favorite book is Unbeatable Mind by Mark Divine. Gary's favorite movie is Shooter and he listens to acoustic and red dirt country music. His hobbies include playing cards, sight-seeing and playing basketball while traveling to rodeos.
